Trapier Theater was filled with raucous laughter and dazzling performances last weekend as St. Albans and NCS Upper School students performed two murder mystery one-act plays. The debut of the shows marked the kickoff of the 2023-24 theater season, which includes the upcoming musicals Frozen Jr. in the Lower School and The Addams Family in the Upper School.
The Mysterious Affair at Styles, a more traditional play by Agatha Christie, and The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong, an over-the-top comedy, showcased the range of talent across the two school schools.
Theater Director Chris Snipe commented, “The cast and crew worked hard over the last few months, forming genuine relationships across grades and between both NCS and St. Albans.”
A hallmark of the Coordinate Program — which provides coeducational opportunities at both single-sex schools, the theater program facilitates rich friendships between schools. Snipe added, “The students were extraordinarily supportive of each other, and I think that was palpable onstage. The audience could tell they were a tightly knit cast.”
