To Bee or Not to Bee: Top STA Spelling Bee Performers Move On

BNSpelling Bee (1)
Congratulations to all of the brave spellers who took to Trapier Theater last week with friends and family in attendance for the annual STA Lower School Spelling Bee. Moderated by Mr. Miller, this year’s spelling bee featured 35 talented spellers, ranging from Form C to Form II. It was a tightly contested competition, taking several rounds to whittle the group down to the top performers. Those performers, representing Forms CBA and Forms I and II, will advance to represent St. Albans at the MAESA Fair Spelling Bee, and the DC Cluster Bee for a chance to qualify for the city-wide competition. The top-place finishers, moving on to represent STA are:

DC Cluster Bee
Shivaj Raman ’31, Rommy Martinez ’31, AJ Jean ’31

MAESA Fair
CBA
Jackson Vonhm ’32, Adam Rawi ’32
Alternate: Alex Jean ’32

Form I and II
Harris Brownfield ’30, William Nikodem ’29

The DC Cluster Bee takes place on Thursday, February 6, at 12:30 pm at the Arc Theater in DC. The MAESA Fair will be held on Friday, April 25, at St. Albans.  Best of luck to our STA spellers!
