Weather-Related Messages

If St. Albans is closed or delayed because of weather, we will send families an email and post a notice at www.stalbansschool.org, usually by 6:30 am, and we will report any delay or closure information to NBC4 (WRC-TV) and WTOP radio (103.5/103.9/107.7 FM).

If the school is open and operating on a regular schedule, no special announcement will be made. Weather decisions are made in coordination with NCS and Beauvoir. St. Albans does not follow the school-closing policies of the District of Columbia.

Parents, staff, and students may also sign up to receive text notifications about weather delays, closings, or emergency announcements:
  1. Log in to the website and click on the arrow next to your name.
  2. Select Settings from the drop down menu.
  3. On the menu at left, select Notifications.
  4. If your text number is not listed, add one by clicking on the plus sign. After you add your number and cell phone carrier or provider, a verification code will be sent to your phone. Enter the verification code in the Activate Text Device box and click Save.
  5. Next to Announcement Posted, select Setup Options.
  6. Under General Categories, select Weather Delays, Closings, and Emergency Announcements, and click Save.
  7. Next to Announcement Posted, check the Text and Email boxes.

Back
Located in Washington D.C., St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
