STA Athletics
The St. Albans cross-country team conquered all eight of the courses it has run this season and 256 out of the 257 teams it has faced. Among the team’s many accomplishments in 2024 are its fifteenth consecutive IAC conference championship, second DCSAA championship in the past three years, and a second-place finish at the Nike Cross Southeast Regional in Cary, NC, which qualified them for the Nike Nationals in Portland, OR this Saturday. The Bulldogs’ top seven runners will join 21 other teams and 200 runners at the start line at Glendoveer Golf Course at 2:35pm Eastern Time Saturday to vie for the national championship. The race will be livestreamed at this link:  Nike Cross Nationals Webcast. Detailed information about the race including a map of the course can be found at Nike Cross Nationals Home.

Sebi Hume led the Bulldogs in the Southeast Regional Qualifier with a time of 15:01 and a tenth place finish in the field of 273 runners. Will Strong (15:18, 24th), Laszlo Wolfe (15:42, 60th), Charlie Palmore (15:44, 66th), and Liam Quinn (16:06, 121st) also scored for STA.  Rafi Hume (16:09) and Thomas Power (16:36) also finished in the top half of the field. These seven will represent STA in Portland.
