Día de los Muertos

Ms. Lisa Blanford
Dia de las MuertosFor el Día de los Muertos, Lower School students in Forms C, B and Upper School Spanish I celebrated by watching videos and enjoying pan de muerto, a seasonal baked good flavored with orange blossom water. The Day of the Dead corresponds to All Saint's Day and All Souls Day, and after chapel on Friday, November 1, Reverend Chadwick directed Lower School students to an Ofrenda or offering created by parishioners at the back of St. Albans Parish to honor deceased loved ones.
Also, Ms. Lombardo showcased related artwork in the front of the Lower School.  In groups, Form A had students created drawings and then designed brightly colored, bejeweled calaveras or skulls for the holiday.

Located in Washington D.C., St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
