February updates for seniors

Feb 1 deadlines, Green Sheets, Fin Aid, emails, interviews...

Dear All,

Please fill in the Senior Update Form we sent you, to help us as we continue to communicate with your colleges.

We are about to send first-semester grades to all of the colleges on your Green Sheet.

Do you have THREE foundation schools on your list? Do you LIKE all of the colleges on your list? Make sure that the answer to both of these questions is yes. THURSDAY IS FEBRUARY 1, which means there are a number of college deadlines then. The next round of deadlines will be February 15. You can search the Common App for colleges whose deadlines have not yet passed, and here is a shorter list to peruse: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-88hvtK0TdtaS0_Iz6jzstMgx7zurv9JjAkr45TctBI/edit?usp=sharing

Please make sure to check the status of your applications (CHECK YOUR PORTALS) and to READ EMAILS from your colleges. Now is the time when colleges will be notifying you of missing items. If you didn't check your list carefully yesterday, you may want to check your Green Sheet again -- in the past week, a number of you have wondered why a college has not received STA information only to find out that the college was not listed there. Have you sent your scores to all of your colleges that require you to send your scores? Do you know if your college requires you to send your scores directly from SAT or ACT?

Are you EXPRESSING INTEREST to small colleges on your list and to those colleges where you have been deferred? Now is also the time to be submitting your update letters to any college from which you were deferred. Do you know which of your colleges track interest?

If you are applying for Financial Aid, you should have already submitted your Financial Aid forms -- FAFSA and CSS Profile, if necessary. If you have not yet submitted your forms, do so now.

We are now in prime interview season. Please let us know if you need any tips, would like to see a sample list of questions, or would like to do a mock interview.

If you have missed the chance to schedule an interview at a college that recommends interviews, make sure you talk to your College Advisor about what to do next.
