Form I Visits the Supreme Court

This week students from Form I learned more about the ins-and-outs of constitutional law from an expert on the hill before traveling off of the Close to tour the Supreme Court. Starting off in the classroom, students had the opportunity to learn more about constitutional law from Mr. Bill Van Horne, Chief Legal Counsel to Senator Ben Cardin from Maryland. The boys had the opportunity to ask Mr. Van Horne about his own career path, as well as specific questions about working with the Supreme Court and constitutional amendments.

After the Q&A, Form I left for the Supreme Court. Once there, students wandered the displays and exhibits, reading about the history and founding of the court and country. The boys were then taken on a tour of the court chamber as a docent fielded questions from the group. Having already taken a deep dive on court cases and the judicial system, the boys were able to ask informed questions on the history of the court and its day-to-day duties and functions.
