Championship Season Is Here!

It’s only been a week since our last update, but it has been quite the week! With one trophy already brought back to the Close and one more on the line today, catch up on the latest Bulldog news below.

Soccer: 13-1-2, Facing Landon in the IAC Championship Today!
In a rematch of last Friday’s 3-2 victory, the Bulldogs take on the Bears of Landon for the third straight year in the IAC tournament final. With kickoff slated for 3:30 pm today, it is anticipated to be a packed house at Steuart Field as St. Albans looks to add the IAC tournament championship to their regular season championship.

Cross-Country, IAC Champions Yet Again! 
Count ’em 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 consecutive IAC championships for the St. Albans Bulldogs. Will Strong ’25 and Sebi Hume ’25 crossed the finish line together, topping the 3rd-place finisher by 15 seconds. This weekend, the Dogs are running for their second straight DCSAA title beginning at 9:30 am at Kenilworth Park.

Football: 4-3, 2-1 in IAC
In a highly competitive, physical game played in unseasonably warm temperatures, STA outlasted St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes 14-13. The Bulldog defense came up with several big stops in their own territory including a last-minute drive, in which they forced the Saints to attempt a 57-yard field goal that fell just short. This weekend, head out to Steuart Field to celebrate the Class of 2024 during Senior Day vs. Georgetown Prep. The ceremony will precede the game, with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 pm.
