NCS & STA Celebrate Lunar New Year

The Year of the Rabbit

“That’s the magic of the new year,” noted Alan Fang ’24 in his remarks during the NCS-STA Lunar New Year Celebration. “It brings our community together.” Held in the Cathedral, the morning celebration included remarks from the heads and faculty at both schools, a moment of silence in memory of victims of recent mass shootings, reflections from students about their families’ lunar and other new year traditions, musical and dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, a lively dragon dance, performed by members of the community ranging in age from 12 to 72. The service concluded with Form II/8th Grade students in coordinate Chinese classes offering wishes for the new year in Chinese and English, followed by NCS and STA students singing in Chinese the song “Let the World Be Filled with Love” and its wish for peace and happiness worldwide.

Thank you to all at NCS and STA who collaborated on the celebration, including our DEI offices, affinity groups, chaplains, and the coordinate Chinese language program. Enjoy the videos and photos from the celebration!
