Lower School Productions

The Middle School Drama Department mounts two full-scale large cast productions every year. Students in Forms I and II participate, along with NCS 7th and 8th grades.

As many as 50 students are involved in technical work for the middle school shows. They work, often in small groups, in the areas of scenery, lighting, sound, costumes, props and make-up.

Cast members rehearse two to three days a week, on an as-needed basis after school. Tech crews meet once a week. Final production week requires all cast and crew to participate each night. Parent volunteers provide dinner that week.

The goals for the students involved in drama in Forms I and II are to:

  • Explore a range of genres and styles;

  • Be prepared for Upper School productions;

  • Build a collaborative team of both STA and NCS students; and

  • Work toward the highest standards possible.
